The
Witham Sailing Club is based on the west bank of the river Witham (opp. Witham
Tavern)
We
are in our 56th year.
We meet every Wednesday evening during the sailing season. (Apr-Oct)
New members are always welcome.
The club own 2 Enterprise sailing dinghies and 1 GP14 sailing dinghy which
members are welcome to use.
There are several members that are always willing to take newcomers for their
first sail.
Life jackets can be provided and must be worn at all times whilst on the water.
The club house has male and female changing room, toilets and showers.
Hot and cold drinks are available on club nights.
We
have mooring afloat for 30+ yachts and dinghies with ample space for dinghies
on the bank. There are 2 slipways and a landing stage.
The
dinghies sail the non tidal witham between Boston Sluice bridge and Langrick
bridge.
Races
are held on Wednesday evenings and some Sundays with a summer regatta and
BBQ at Anton's Gowt.
The
dinghy racing is a mixed fleet of handicapped boats.
We
have access to the wash via Sluice bridge lock, with 3 further bridges to
contend with.
You can use the lock 2 hours before high water and 2 hours after high water.
Approximately one hour journey gets you into the open sea of the wash.
Yacht races are held in the wash several times during the summer.

The
Wash on a good day. (Roger sands)
